A successful Storage and Virtualization Administrator - Subject Matter Expert candidate will have: * A detailed understanding of the storage and virtualization processes * Detailed knowledge about server virtualization and hardware and core networking concepts (switching, routing, VLANs, subnets) * Strong Experience with VMware vSphere and managing ESXi hosts and virtual machines * Ability to troubleshoot VMware vSphere and hardware related issues * Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills The ideal candidate will have: * Experience administering/maintaining/patching VMware vCenter, ESXi, and vSphere environments * Experience with SSO, Active Directory integration and Certificate management * Experience performing incremental and full backups using Commvault or Dell Avamar * Experience with Aria Operations, NSX, and ADX Suite * Ability to troubleshoot identity and authentication issues across VMware components * Understanding of enterprise - scale virtualization configuration baselines and lifecycle management * Strong mentorship and leadership skills Key Tasks & Responsibilities * Designs, monitors, maintains, and heads the engineering process of an organization's versatile and secure information storage environment and backup solutions, such as high-capacity databases, networks, and systems * Implements, administers, and configures storage strategies, solutions, and protocols * Delivers technical and application support, conducts capacity planning, and projects present and future storage and virtualization growth * Executes new installs, updates, and deployments, utilizing knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, computer applications, technical support processes, and business needs * Supports remote server and storage management (preferred experience with Dell servers and storage solutions) * Attends required meetings and supports business development activities * Builds, configures, and maintains virtual machines, servers, and storage solutions * Diagnoses and resolves technical issues for local and remote assets, including hardware, vSphere, networking, and authentication components * Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues reported through established processes * Delivers outstanding customer service through direct interaction with users and stakeholders * Communicates issues, risks, and recommendations to leadership in a clear and concise manner * Documents work for knowledge sharing within the Storage and Virtualization team Education & Experience Require d * B achelor's degree or equivalent experience , and 4 -6 years of related experience * Direct experience with VMware vSphere Desired: * E xperience designing and implementing secure VMware virtual infrastructures, focusing on performance tuning, STIG compliance, and disaster recovery protocols Certifications Required Certifications: * Security+, or other qualifying IAT II certification * Must be willing to obtain VMware VCP or VC A P certification within 120 days Desired Certifications: * Dell VxRail Operate certification OR the ability to obtain within 120 days Security Clearance Desired: * Active Secret or TOP Secret Required: * Applicants must have eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.) * Shift - The primary shift for this position is Monday - Friday with flexible core hours * If a temporary schedule change is required to support operations, you will be provided with as much notice as the situation allows * Certification requirements are subject to change based on government's direction.
