Job description

Secret Cleared VMware NSX Engineer

Our client, with locations in Oklahoma City, OK and Montgomery, AL, is in need of a Secret Cleared NSX Engineer for a 9 month contract. This role will be working primarily remote, with up to 50% travel to Oklahoma City, OK and Montgomery, AL sites as needed. This person will serve as a senior-level engineer responsible for designing and deploying a secure, large-scale VMware NSX-T environment supporting a private cloud build. They will architect multi-site, multi-tenant NSX deployments, implement micro-segmentation and distributed firewall policies, and integrate NSX with broader VMware cloud components and automation tools. The role also includes leading advanced troubleshooting across networking planes and driving automation of NSX and cloud networking configurations. Overall, they will help build and secure the cloud infrastructure from the ground up while ensuring scalability, segmentation, and compliance within a classified environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to design and deploy complex, multi-site and federated NSX environments.
  • Deep knowledge of L2-L3 switching and routing protocols and L4-L7 network services (load balancing, firewall)
  • Strong in advanced configuration including micro-segmentation, distributed firewall, load balancing, VPNs, and integration with VMware vRealize Automation/Operations.
  • Capable of leading systematic troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues across NSX environments.
  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • US Citizenship required
