Job Summary:
MDAEdge is seeking a VMware System Engineer with Full Scope Polygraph to support a mission-critical environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role will be instrumental in redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization transitions to a Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
Responsibilities:
• lead architectural design
• system migration
• administration of VMware environments
• ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable operations
• close collaboration with network, storage, and security teams
• driving automation, optimization, and standardization across platforms
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Deep knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter and VMware system administration.
• Experience migrating from VMware 7.x to 8.x.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration, including patching and sustainment.
• Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Power Distribution Units (PDU).
• Knowledge of enclave security and firewall technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ASA).
Preferred:
• Experience with VMware NSX.
• Knowledge of Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
• Strong background in system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into secure, production-ready solutions.
