Requirements:

VMG Health is seeking a Managing Director, General Strategy to join its Strategy & Partnership Advisory business unit. This senior-level role is responsible for growing VMG Health's enterprise strategy business across hospitals, health systems, physician enterprises, and other healthcare organizations. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, helping clients address complex strategic challenges related to growth, transformation, market positioning, physician alignment, and partnerships.


The Managing Director will develop executive-level relationships, originate new business opportunities, and drive growth across the broader VMG Health platform. This individual will work collaboratively with leaders across the firm to deliver high-impact advisory solutions while expanding VMG Health's presence within healthcare provider organizations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise hospitals, health systems, and physician organizations on enterprise strategy, growth initiatives, market positioning, organizational performance, and transformational opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with C-suite executives, physician leaders, board members, and other key decision-makers across the healthcare industry.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to healthcare leaders on enterprise strategic planning, service line growth, physician alignment, market expansion, partnerships, affiliations, joint ventures, and other growth-oriented initiatives.
  • Drive growth of VMG Health's enterprise strategy services across the provider sector, with a particular focus on hospitals and health systems.
  • Originate, qualify, and advance consulting opportunities while maintaining a robust pipeline of prospective client engagements.
  • Represent VMG Health through industry conferences, client meetings, executive forums, thought leadership activities, and professional associations.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to the full VMG Health platform, including Strategy & Transformation, Partnerships & M&A, Valuation, Compensation, Compliance, Revenue Optimization, and other advisory solutions.
  • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts across business units to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions that address clients' most pressing strategic challenges.
  • Contribute to practice growth through business development initiatives, market intelligence, industry insights, and thought leadership activities.
  • Support the continued development and expansion of the Strategy & Partnership Advisory business unit.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare strategy consulting, advisory services, health system leadership, corporate strategy, business development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, or other provider-based healthcare organizations.
  • Proven success developing executive-level relationships and generating new business opportunities.
  • Experience leading or supporting enterprise strategic planning, growth strategy, physician alignment, partnership evaluation, or healthcare transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics, provider economics, reimbursement models, and industry trends.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to effectively engage and influence C-suite leaders, physicians, and boards.
  • Exceptional relationship management, business development, and consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and service lines.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA, MPH, or other relevant graduate degree.
  • Experience leading enterprise strategic planning engagements for hospitals and health systems.
  • Established network of healthcare executives, physician leaders, board members, and industry stakeholders.
  • Experience advising organizations on growth strategy, physician integration, partnership strategy, value-based care, organizational transformation, or healthcare transactions.
  • Demonstrated success growing consulting relationships, client portfolios, and advisory revenue within the healthcare industry.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong passion for growth, innovation, and client service excellence.
