Overview
The Director, CFO Advisory Services contributes to the success of the firm by leading complex client engagements and serving as a trusted financial advisor to community health centers and other healthcare organizations. This individual will help shape and expand VMG Health's CFO Advisory Services practice by combining executive-level consulting with practice leadership, team development, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare finance leader who enjoys balancing strategic client advisory work with mentoring consultants, enhancing service delivery, and building scalable solutions that support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic CFO Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic finance advisor to CEOs, Boards, and executive leadership teams.
  • Provide high-level guidance on financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, operational improvement, and organizational growth.
  • Lead and oversee complex CFO engagements for healthcare organizations nationwide.
  • Support consultants in navigating challenging client situations and strategic initiatives.

Build and Strengthen the CFO Service Line
  • Help define and continuously improve VMG Health's CFO service model and delivery approach.
  • Develop frameworks, tools, training materials, and best practices that create a consistent client experience.
  • Establish quality assurance processes to ensure exceptional work product across all engagements.
  • Monitor service line performance and help identify opportunities for innovation and growth.

Develop and Mentor Our Team
  • Coach and mentor consultants providing CFO and finance services.
  • Support professional development, training, and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Serve as a resource for technical, operational, and leadership questions.
  • Help build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Drive Business Development and Growth
  • Partner with firm leadership to expand CFO Advisory Services.
  • Build relationships with healthcare executives and industry leaders.
  • Participate in business development activities, proposal development, and sales pursuits.
  • Help identify new market opportunities and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare finance leadership experience.
  • Experience serving as a CFO, Fractional CFO, healthcare finance executive, or senior healthcare consultant.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement, budgeting, financial operations, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing teams.
  • Experience building processes, creating scalable solutions, and driving organizational growth.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence with Boards, CEOs, and senior leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for mentoring others and helping build a best-in-class consulting practice.
  • Prior consulting experience serving healthcare providers, community health centers, or other healthcare organizations.
  • CPA, MBA, MHA, or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification.
