WHAT AWAITS YOU.
  • Leads with photoreal, cinematic, and immersive media to communicate BMW's design vision, embodying the idea that the best way to predict the future is to create it.
  • Role spans visualization and storytelling tech (VR, AR, interactive visualization, media) and involves collaboration with in-house talent, BMW ED, and external industry experts across all programs (BMW and 3rd party, ID, UI, motion graphics) and DW global studios.
  • Uses effective communication tools including sketches, storyboards, animatics, and previz; strong skills in shaders, lighting, and environment creation.
  • Clear cross-disciplinary collaboration across design workflow (designers, modelers, strategists, creative directors, directors) and alignment with design processes while handling multiple projects.
  • Manages visualization workflows, co-creating narratives/storyboards with Creative Director and Designer, and growing a universal asset/resource library.
  • Exploring of new visualization tech (interactivity, VR/AR) and continuous learning of new tools; potential growth into art direction and attendance at CGI/visualization conferences to bring back learnings to DW.
  • Closing work with CMF to capture design intent for the digital CMF library; balance technical expertise with creativity to produce final media deliverables (still, animated, and real-time rendering) and strive for hero-level shots.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in visualization.
  • Good communicator and collaborator, multi-tasker, problem solver, with perseverance and a desire to learn and grow as an expert in the design visualization field.
  • In depth knowledge of Unreal Engine, Blender, AI integration in 3D Workflows.
  • Knowledge of VRED and other industry standard rendering and compositing software like Houdini, Cinema 4D, Touch Designer or other.
  • Aptitude for learning new tools, software and technology.

This is a hybrid role that requires regular attendance in the office.
The expected salary range for this position is $104,519.00 - $135,260.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
