Job description

Salary: $110K - $150K annually

BEI Construction is seeking an Audio-Visual Project Manager for our Low Voltage division. As an A/V Project Manager, you will be responsible for the generation of sales, cost estimates, and managing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of projects. Additionally, you will ensure projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements. This role will report to the General Manager of the division with frequent travel to jobsites located throughout the Bay Area.


Responsibilities & Duties:


Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple complex audio-visual projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestones to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Routinely visit sites for project kickoffs, attend site surveys, and monitor project status and oversight.

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Gather and define project requirements, ensuring that client objectives are met and exceeded.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on the design, implementation, and optimization of AV systems, ensuring solutions are aligned with their goals.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within the agreed financial parameters.
  • Monitor project costs, report any deviations from the budget, and adjust plans as necessary to avoid cost overruns.
  • Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or service delivery.
  • Review and approve vendor contracts and purchase orders.

Installation & System Integration

  • Ensure all equipment and materials are sourced, delivered, and ready for installation on schedule.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, oversee the setup and installation of audio-visual systems, ensuring everything is installed according to design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Coordinate testing and commissioning of AV systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that systems are fully operational before the project handover to clients.

Risk Management & Problem Resolution

  • Proactively identify potential risks or issues that could impact project delivery and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve any project-related challenges or conflicts, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines or client relationships.
  • Ensure that AV systems are installed, tested, and fully operational, and address any post-installation issues as they arise.

Quality Assurance & Post-Project Review

  • Oversee the commissioning and testing of AV systems, ensuring that all equipment and components meet quality standards.
  • Provide post-project support, conducting reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including system diagrams, technical manuals, and training guides for clients.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the field of A/V or project management
  • Bachelors degree in information technology, electrical, mechanical, or construction management, or other related studies is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Crestron, Extron, Bi-Amp, QSC programming experience preferred, but not required
  • Manufacturers certifications such as Crestron DMC-E, CCNA, Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira, Zoom, Polycom, Cisco, and other AV/UC industry certifications are preferred, but not required
  • Valid CA Driver License and MVR that meets BEI driving standards
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and make management decisions within project scope
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
