What This Role Is…

As a Visual Merchandising Coordinator at CITY Furniture, your primary responsibility is to uphold the showroom's aesthetic and ensure that it aligns with the company's visual standards. You will play a key role in driving business performance by creating impactful, on-brand product displays, facilitating timely product transitions, and maximizing floor space through strategic placement. This position requires strong time management, proactive thinking, creativity, and keen attention to detail to effectively translate home accent concepts into engaging showroom environments. Visual Merchandising Coordinator will also be responsible for ordering, receiving, and managing inventory, ensuring RFID tagging standards are met for accurate stock control. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Visual Merchandising department at CITY Furniture.

Reports To:       Regional Visual Merchandising Supervisor (RVMS), Manager (RVMM) or Senior Manager (SVMM)

Location:          Villages (Orlando/Central FL area)

Department/Sub-Department: Merchandising/ Visual

Pay Rate: $19-$20

What You’ll Do…

As a Visual Merchandising Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Merchandise the Showroom – Responsible for the daily reset of the showroom, ensuring it is organized and that merchandising standards are consistently maintained. Reviews floor plan notes each day and inspects the sales floor for spatial planning, facilitating smooth product transitions and changes. Oversees the timely markdown and transition of floor models. Manages showroom product orders, creates stock transfer documents, and oversees deliveries of product, ensuring the proper execution of merchandising strategies through Concept Books and Spec Sheets. Actively participates in planning the movement of display products, optimizing space planning, and maintaining appropriate layout and density levels. Prints and places price tags for all display items and conducts PCW audits to verify correct placement of specified components within vignettes. Reviews and responds to monthly showroom audits, including Visual, Marketing, Mattress, RFID, and Truck Bindy audits.
  • Place & Replenish Home Accents  – Manages the receiving, unpacking, and tagging of accessories to ensure all items are appropriately labeled with price and RFID tags for sale. Executes company directives and specifications by strategically placing accessories and wall décor in designated showroom areas, adhering to company standards. Places bulbs in lamps when placing in the showroom. Updates the showroom with seasonal color story displays each quarter. Responsible for replenishing and redistributing home accents and mattress gallery merchandise according to planograms, ensuring the showroom displays remain full, visually appealing, and aligned with merchandising guidelines.

Additional duties and responsibilities as a Visual Merchandising Coordinator are:

  • Inventory Control  – Ensures all display products are accurately tracked using RFID tagging, in coordination with SOA, as they are added to the showroom following the one-piece flow philosophy. Oversees correct product ordering and receiving. Reviews weekly inventory variances with Sales, assisting with troubleshooting and reconciliation efforts. Provides accurate purchase order (PO) documentation for all product transfers to accounting and conducts audits to verify proper labeling on all accessories.
  • Support Sales Department  – Drives sales across all product categories by ensuring visually appealing and effective product displays. Collaborates with the General Manager to review showroom feedback, address needs, and reviews product transitions. Assists Sales Associates by providing product information and supporting customer interactions as needed. Communicates pricing details and tag requirements for product transitions through the Concrete task system. Participates in Ultimate Update meetings to align individual and team efforts with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Visual Team & Merchandising Department Involvement  – Collaborates with team members to support the overall success of the organization. Actively participates in weekly Visual team meetings to discuss priorities, address challenges, and align on showroom objectives. Coordinates with Merchandise Planning and Visual Leadership on product placement, showroom assortment, and resource allocation. Contributes to the setup of new showrooms and remerchandising projects. Provides valuable feedback to Marketing and Operations regarding product quality, packaging, and delivery.

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • High School Diploma required from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of One year of Visual Merchandising experience within a retail environment preferred
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Monday through Friday 9:30am-6:30pm, with limited night and weekend hours
    • Flexible 40 hours/week, Full Time
    • Travel may be required if overseeing multiple showrooms and for participation in Showroom Remerchandising project & New Store Openings (NSO).
    • Minimal personal cell phone use allowed during work hours
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Working in a retail furniture showroom and warehouse environment.
    • Extended periods of time standing, walking throughout showroom and warehouse
    • Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. including being on a ladder (ex: Mirrors, wall décor)
  • Technology Requirements:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (ex: Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
    • Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • Apple iPad and knowledge of using applications required
    • General PC knowledge required
    • Knowledge of AS400 is preferred
    • Knowledge RFID Inventory Zebra Tagging Equipment preferred
    • View and understand Computer-aided design (CAD) drawings
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • Valid Florida Driver’s License
