Job description


We are seeking a highly creative, digitally fluent Digital Content Producer to join the Photo/Video team within Marketing & Visual Communications at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
This individual will lead the development of social-first visual content from concept through delivery, identifying compelling stories and translating complex business and mission topics into content designed for today's audiences and platforms.
The ideal candidate understands that social storytelling is more than creating shorter versions of traditional content. They understand how platform, audience, pacing, authenticity and timing shape the story itself. They are equally comfortable interviewing an employee on a production floor, capturing an executive with a mobile device, producing a fast-turn vertical video or developing a larger digital storytelling concept.
This role will work closely with Aero Marketing and Communications, Line of Business Social and Digital Teams and Visual Communications partners. The Digital Content Producer will also serve as a subject matter expert and capability builder, training and mentoring other Visual Communications team members so social content production can scale during periods of peak demand.
Lead Social-First Storytelling
  • Develop and produce compelling social and digital content from concept through final delivery
  • Identify the strongest story, format and creative approach for each audience and platform
  • Translate complex aerospace, technology and business topics into clear, engaging visual stories
  • Produce content supporting Aero Line of Business Mini Teams, executive communications, employee engagement and key business moments
  • Capture authentic content in a variety of environments, including production floors, events, site visits and leadership engagements
  • Conduct interviews and build relationships that help employees and leaders feel comfortable and authentic on camera

Create & Produce Content
  • Independently shoot, produce and edit short-form and digital-first video content
  • Create platform-specific versions and optimize content for different audiences and channels
  • Balance speed, authenticity and production quality based on the needs of each story
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, editors, designers and other Visual Communications disciplines on larger content opportunities
  • Lead social content execution during high-volume events, campaigns and business milestones while coordinating support from the broader team

Build Team Capability
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for social-first visual storytelling within Visual Communications
  • Mentor and train photographers, videographers and Mini Team editors on social storytelling techniques and best practices
  • Develop repeatable workflows, templates, production standards and content playbooks
  • Help establish a scalable production model that allows existing Visual Communications team members to provide effective support during peak production periods
  • Share emerging techniques, tools and platform changes with the broader creative organization

Understand Platforms, Audiences & Trends
  • Maintain strong fluency across major social and digital platforms and understand how content expectations differ by channel
  • Monitor social trends, emerging formats, audience behaviors and relevant conversations
  • Apply social listening and trend analysis to identify potential storytelling opportunities
  • Understand when and how trends can appropriately support Lockheed Martin's brand and communications objectives
  • Partner with Communications and Marketing teams to proactively identify content opportunities

Measure & Optimize
  • Use available analytics and performance data to understand how content is resonating with audiences
  • Identify patterns in content performance and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Apply insights from previous content to continuously improve storytelling, formats and production approaches
  • Help establish best practices and benchmarks for Aero social and digital content

Job Details
The Digital Content Producer will serve as a social-first storyteller within Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Marketing & Visual Communications, creating timely, engaging content that connects audiences to our people, programs and missions. This role combines the skills of a producer, shooter and editor with deep understanding of social platforms, audience behavior, emerging trends and digital storytelling.
The successful candidate will primarily support Aero Line of Business Social Teams-including F-35, IFG/Sustainment, AMMM and Skunk Works-while also supporting executive communications and other high-priority digital storytelling needs. Beyond creating content, this individual will help build Marketing & Visual Communications' social-first storytelling capability by establishing best practices, mentoring other creators and enabling the broader team to support increasing demand.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience creating social-first video and digital content
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating social storytelling experience, short-form video and platform-specific content
  • Professional experience shooting and editing video content independently
  • Strong experience with professional video editing tools and production workflows
  • Experience with major social media platforms, content formats and audience behaviors
  • Experience developing stories from concept through production and final delivery
  • Experience conducting interviews and working directly with a wide range of subjects, including employees, customers and/or senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience workngi quickly and independently in fast-moving production environments
  • Experience identifying and evaluating social trends and emerging content formats
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building experience with the ability to collaborate across creative and Communications teams
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities and responding effectively to emerging content opportunities

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
