Salary: $45.00 CAD - $55.00 CAD per hour depending on experience, annual performance bonus and discretionary bonus

Benefits: 10 days of paid vacation per year in accordance with provincial employment standards and company policy. Eligible for health, visual and dental benefits in accordance with company policy. Additionally, eligible for group retirement savings plan, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and discretionary and bonus in accordance with company policy.

Duties and responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer Body will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Collaborating on sourcing decision to ensure capable supplier selection by utilizing client standardized tools in assessing sourcing risks and developing robust industrialization plans to deliver best in class supplier performance.
  • Engaging assigned suppliers in implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to deliver successful vehicle and powertrain launches with robust Production Parts Approval disciplines (PPAP) that meets program launch milestones requirements.
  • Managing and escalating supplier progress status following APQP and program launch reporting guidelines.
  • Conducting on-site supplier evaluation visits as per client global product development system (GPDS) supplier engagement process for new program parts with client and supplier cross functional teams.
  • Driving modular strategies in key commodities like latches and lighting.
  • Developing optimized Bill of process for key commodities.
  • Developing failure mode avoidance through robust execution of manufacturing feasibility assessments, PFMEA, Special Characteristics (SCCAF) and Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (GR&R), Capacity Analysis (CAR) reviews, enforcing Health Charts and Manufacturing Process Standards compliance and validation of implementation on supplierโ€™s production/manufacturing floor.
  • Developing early industrialization procedures for new to industry technology.
  • Leading the procedures to include critical to quality machine variables, control limits and inspection criteria.
  • Collecting and compiling data of process run at rate events, product capacity and quality to ensure production schedules can be supported to meet specifications.

This position does not require any provincial license or certification in Ontario.

Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology and Post-Diploma in Plastic Mould Design or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in an automotive industry.
  • Previous experience working in a Ford automobile manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Certifications in integrated computer-aided design (CAD) / computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
  • Expertise in seat belt buckles and seating systems for Ford automobiles.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Parts Approval (PPAP) guidelines.
  • Expertise in handling vehicle interior commodities
  • Advanced knowledge in vehicle interior specifically interiors for Ford Automobiles.
  • Expertise in Injection Molding Manufacturing Process.
