Job Summary
Provide support for faculty and students in the Print Lab through assisting with lab equipment, materials, printmaking supplies, etc. Main responsibilities will include assisting students in printing, maintaining a clean working environment in lab, assisting faculty with miscellaneous tasks relating to classroom experience and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Under minimal supervision, perform duties including but not limited to:
  • Communicating effectively through oral and written communication
  • Creating and maintaining Open Lab sign-in sheet
  • Using paper cutters, printing press, and other lab equipment
  • Assisting with student login of computers if needed
  • Maintaining/straightening assigned art classrooms/labs
  • Reporting general Visual Art & Design facility problems
  • Being capable and available to assist students with design
  • Assist in various hand-pulled printmaking methods
  • Maintaining and managing lab and workroom areas
  • Keeping lab areas clean and well organized
  • Being punctual and in attendance at work when scheduled
  • Notifying Print Lab instructors when not able to be in attendance at the regularly scheduled day/time
  • Performing other duties as needed and assigned
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with experience working in an office and/or customer service setting.
  • Some experience with printmaking.
