St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. Job Responsibilities
The Wegmans School of Nursing invites applications for a full time, 12-month, on-campus, for a tenure or non-tenure-track appointment as a Assistant Professor or Visiting Assistant Professor to begin teaching January 2026.
Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing students in the classroom, simulation learning center, online, and clinical settings
โ€ข Engage in an active program of research/scholarship
โ€ข Engage in various service activities within the school, College, the profession of nursing, and the community
โ€ข Maintain clinical and academic expertise
โ€ข Plan student learning experiences in achieving desired learning outcomes
โ€ข Plan, develop, and implement evaluation tools to assess student progress
โ€ข Participate in curriculum development
โ€ข Participate in meetings and other activities that advance the mission and goals of the school and College
โ€ข Other duties as determined by the Associate Dean All nursing programs in the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher University are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The teaching load is 33 contact hours per year (12 credits Fall and Spring and 9 credits in the Summer)
Education / Experience
| Minimum Requirements:
โ€ข Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) conferred by the time of hire preferred. โ€ข One graduate degree must be in nursing and from an accredited institution (MS or doctorate) โ€ข Hold state and national certification as an advanced practice nurse
โ€ข Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse and APRN certification in New York State, or ability to obtain by date of hire. โ€ข Minimum of Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, current professional RN and APRN clinical experience. Preferred Requirements:
โ€ข Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, academic experience in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing education
โ€ข Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation
โ€ข Online teaching experience
โ€ข Established record of scholarship/research publications
โ€ข Established record of service
