Job Description:

CMI General Contractors is seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Superintendent to join our team. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to work on projects that make a real difference in the community. Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Healthcare Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Overseeing all stages of project life cycle and ensuring that projects are completed within time and budget constraints.
  • Enforces corporate safety policies on jobsites, including pre-task safety planning and providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field.Specifically in Infection Control.
  • Coordinating and supervising construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Collaborating with architects and engineers to determine the best construction methods and strategies.
  • Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications, ensuring that all work is carried out according to the design.
  • Resolving any issues or delays that may arise during the construction process, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Conducting regular meetings with project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Managing project documentation, including construction plans, safety records, and progress reports.
  • Meeting and/or exceeding project schedules and timelines.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years prior experience and a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field OR a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field can be considered for this position.
  • OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 desired.
  • Proficiency with hospital construction standards including ICRA.
  • CPR/First Aid certified desired.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team of professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools, ProCore desired.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with owners and sub-contractors.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various construction sites as required.
  • Carpentry skills would be considered an asset.
  • Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and sitting for long periods, and lifting 50 pounds.
