Position Function :
Working in collaboration with the Training Supervisor, the Trainer enhances employee competencies by facilitating high-quality training programs that will improve workplace performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in social services, Education, Organizational Leadership/Management or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Experience in curriculum development related to human behavior and/or organizational leadership is a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering instructor-led training using one or more of the following delivery methods: in-person, virtual, webinar video conferencing or blended learning. Experience using learning management systems (LMS) required. Experience designing training curricula and coordinating training events in an organizational setting preferred. Proficiency with platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other training technologies preferred.
Functional :
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training tools, techniques, and delivery methods.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Skill in identifying training needs and sourcing relevant content.
  • Ability to design lesson plans, sequence training content, and select appropriate instructional strategies.
  • Experience developing and facilitating skill practice exercises, as well as conducting formative and summative assessments.
  • Ability to observe, evaluate, and coach participants to improve skill acquisition.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling abilities

Working Conditions :
  • Primarily office-based with extensive computer use and administrative responsibilities.
  • Collaborative environment requiring teamwork and co-facilitation.
  • Occasional attendance at public events.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Travel within the DFW area required; occasional state-wide and limited out-of-state travel may occur.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical movements (e.g., bending, squatting) as part of training facilitation.
  • Active participation in training demonstrations is required

Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all policies regarding client, personnel and organizational records.
Key Expectations/Responsibilities :
  • Assess training needs by reviewing evaluation data, analyzing performance trends, and observing staff strengths and development areas across programs
  • Participate in certification programs to develop subject matter expertise in child welfare, safety, and related topics
  • Remain current on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in training and child welfare.
  • Interpret and translate regulatory requirements into clear, engaging training that supports employee development and compliance.
  • Select appropriate instructional methods and identify relevant content sources to support learning objectives.
  • Design and facilitate skill-based learning activities; observe, evaluate, and coach participants to support skill mastery.
  • Deliver structured, high-quality training sessions and monitor effectiveness to ensure consistent learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate training for new employee onboarding as well as ongoing professional development for existing staff.
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions focused on soft skills development and supervisory competencies.
  • Utilize formative assessment strategies to measure participant progress and ensure mastery of learning objectives.
