Job description

Location: Hattie Mae White Department: Virtual Launchpad Area:District Wide Contract Months:10 Salary Range: $64,000.00 - $89,500.00 Academic Year: 26-27 POSITION SUMMARY Provide high-quality virtual instruction in English II aligned to Texas TEKS and STAAR EOC standards within the HISD Virtual Launchpad program. Design and deliver rigorous synchronous and asynchronous instruction that supports student mastery of reading comprehension, analytical writing, literary analysis, and critical thinking skills. Monitor student engagement and academic progress, provide timely and actionable feedback, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure instructional fidelity, compliance with district and TEA requirements, and measurable academic growth in a structured virtual learning environment

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES List most important duties first 1. Deliver rigorous English II instruction aligned to TEKS and STAAR EOC standards in a blended virtual model (synchronous and asynchronous). 2.

Design and adapt curriculum for virtual delivery, including digital learning modules, assessments, and performance tasks. 3. Provide live virtual instruction according to program schedule.

4. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including students receiving accommodations and modifications. 5.

Monitor student attendance, engagement, and academic progress. 6. Provide weekly tutorials, office hours, and targeted interventions.

7. Support students in preparation for English II STAAR EOC assessment. 8.

Collaborate with graduation coaches and counselors to support student success. 9. Analyze student performance data to inform instructional adjustments.

10. Maintain documentation for ADA and compliance requirements. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES CONTINUED 11.

Participate in progress monitoring cycles and grading reviews. 12. Ensure instructional practices align with district and TEA policies.

13. Collaborate with the leadership and instructional team. 14.

Participate in virtual PLCs and data meetings. 15. Communicate consistently with families regarding student progress.

16. Support onboarding and orientation of students to the virtual platform. 17.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION Software HTML Microsoft Office Chancery Certifications/Licensure Teacher Certification LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Level 1-No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department.

Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities. BUDGET AUTHORITY No budget development activity is required. Education Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree optional Experience 1 to 3 years Other Requirements PROBLEM SOLVING Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval.

Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.
