Job Description We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in virtualization to support and enhance a global enterprise infrastructure environment. This role will serve as a senior technical individual contributor, leading large-scale virtualization initiatives while helping shape the future of the organization's private and hybrid cloud platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep virtualization expertise, strong infrastructure engineering experience, and the ability to drive complex technical projects in a highly regulated, enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture, design, and execution of large-scale virtualization initiatives, including hypervisor refreshes, cluster builds, and virtual machine migrations Manage and optimize enterprise virtualization platforms across private cloud and multi-datacenter environments while supporting future hybrid cloud initiatives Oversee virtualization performance, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, security, and platform reliability Support virtualization technologies including Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and virtualization management platforms Develop automation, operational runbooks, reporting, and process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality Collaborate with infrastructure teams supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, storage, and enterprise systems Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, and evaluate new technologies and platform enhancements Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure challenges while maintaining compliance with governance and security standards Qualifications 5+ years of enterprise systems engineering experience with significant virtualization expertise Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V, or comparable enterprise virtualization platforms Experience leading large-scale hypervisor migrations, infrastructure modernization projects, and private cloud environments Strong knowledge of virtualization performance tuning, capacity planning, storage, SAN technologies, and hyperconverged infrastructure Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation and infrastructure management Experience working within regulated enterprise environments using formal change management processes Familiarity with Kubernetes, hybrid cloud infrastructure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and automation tools such as Ansible is highly desirable Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills Interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve infrastructure operations and engineering efficiency Compensation & Schedule Full-time Hybrid schedule New York, NY
