Job description

Licensed Clinical Psychologist Partnership

About Virtual Peace of Mind (VPM)

Virtual Peace of Mind (VPM) is a fast-growing, fully remote mental health practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to youth and families across multiple states. Our mission is to expand equitable access to mental health services through high-quality virtual care - and to support the clinicians and professionals who make that care possible.

We're building a culture that is mission-driven, accountable, supportive, and built for sustainable remote work.

Why Join VPM

At VPM, you'll be part of a team transforming access to youth mental health through virtual care - with a remote model designed to support excellent work and real life.

What you can expect:

  • Mission-Driven Impact: Contribute to meaningful work improving access and outcomes for youth and families.
  • Remote by Design: Fully remote environment with clear expectations and supportive infrastructure.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work with a multidisciplinary team that values integrity, empathy, and shared learning.
  • Growth & Leadership Pathways: Opportunities to expand scope and take on leadership or consulting responsibilities as we scale.
  • Professional Development: Access to training, resources, and continued learning opportunities aligned to role scope.
  • State & School-Based Partnerships: Join initiatives that strengthen school-based mental health delivery and expand access across communities.

VPM is seeking an experienced, Licensed Clinical Psychologist who is fully credentialed and able to independently bill for clinical services. This is a contract-based role designed for a highly skilled professional who can operate autonomously while partnering closely with our team to support client needs.

About the Role

The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will provide high-quality clinical services under their own license and manage their own billing. This position is classified as a 1099 (referral-based independent contractor), not a W-2 employee role, as the clinician must be able to bill independently and collaborate with VPM on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical assessments, therapy, and related psychological services.
  • Bill services independently under your own license.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with VPM leadership and staff as needed to support client care.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing, billing, and ethical requirements.

Licensure & Credentials

  • Current, active license as a Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD).
  • Ability to independently bill for services under your own license.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to high-quality care.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Prior independent contractor experience preferred, but not required.

Clinical Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or school-aged populations
  • Proven experience and/or history of billing for self-services
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychological and educational assessment, data-driven intervention planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations, including IDEA, Section 504, and ADA compliance.
  • Experience in delivering counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation services to students, parents, and educational teams.
  • Strong skills in telehealth delivery, including the ability to adapt assessments and interventions for virtual platforms while maintaining rapport with students.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and trauma-informed practices in supporting diverse student populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and parent/school staff engagement.

Collaborative Practice

  • Demonstrated success working as part of a multidisciplinary team (therapists, school counselors, educators)
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
  • Skilled in family engagement and culturally responsive care practices

Technology & Documentation

  • Proficient with telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and HIPAA-compliant tools
  • Strong skills in clinical documentation, care coordination, and digital communication
  • Comfortable supporting care delivery in fully remote environments

Contract Structure

  • 1099 independent contractor arrangement.
  • Contractor is responsible for their own billing, taxes, insurance, and licensing requirements.
  • Flexible schedule based on client needs and contractor availability.
