The ideal candidate will possess skills in bilingual therapy, specifically fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, to cater to a diverse population of clients.

About the Organization

At Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic, we are committed to improving the mental health and well-being of children and families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clinic specializes in comprehensive youth and family support services, aiming to empower caregivers while addressing individual client needs. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a primarily remote setting while also operating from our outpatient office when needed. The flexible work environment is designed to foster a balanced professional and personal lifestyle, allowing therapists to manage their schedules effectively. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will engage with colleagues via virtual meetings and collaborative platforms to ensure the delivery of consistent care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement targeted strategies for anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development while working to reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injury or physical aggression.
  • Collaborate closely with youth and their caretakers to enhance decision-making skills and develop effective management strategies for behavioral challenges experienced at home.
  • Engage in regular communication and teamwork with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, fostering a supportive network for both clients and families.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all therapeutic activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring timely submission as per clinic protocols.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to review progress and share case recommendations, contributing to continuous improvement in client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents aged 3-20 who experience developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The therapist will encounter a broad spectrum of concerns, working specifically with families facing unique challenges while helping to advocate for and enhance the emotional and psychological well-being of these vulnerable communities.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Pennsylvania is essential for this role.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend flexibility considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions is highly regarded.
  • A background working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for potential in-home visits are necessary.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.
Compensation and Benefits

The selected candidate will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to financial compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
  • Access to group health coverage to promote physical well-being.
  • Annual paid time off to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for continual professional development and training to enhance skills and career progression.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage for peace of mind.
  • A 401K plan to assist you in planning for your future.

Joining our team provides exceptional avenues for career growth and professional development. Our organization is dedicated to helping our employees advance their skills through ongoing training, mentorship, and participation in workshops that enhance clinical practice and therapeutic methodologies.
