• Conduct comprehensive initial mental health evaluations and assessments through virtual consultations, documenting all findings meticulously via our electronic health record system, AVATAR.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations, tailoring interventions to the specific needs of individuals, couples, and families.
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, both individually and in group formats, focusing on evidence-based practices that promote healing and recovery.
• Continuously monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes and facilitate engagement.
• Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Assist clients in navigating referrals for additional services or psychiatric support, particularly for those requiring hospitalization or intensive care.
• Proactively identify barriers to recovery and mitigate risks by offering guidance and support to clients and their families.
• Engage with primary caregivers, helping them manage their loved ones' mental health challenges and fostering a supportive environment at home.

As a mental health counselor at South Spring Behavioral Health Center, you will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and various other mental health disorders. Our emphasis on community mental health means you will be working with clients from varying socio-economic backgrounds, always aiming to provide culturally competent care tailored to unique personal histories and experiences.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
• Must hold an active and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Pennsylvania.
• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor providing therapy in an outpatient or clinical setting.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR.
• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring emotional, physical, and addiction-related disorders.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
• In-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology and the positive and negative effects of medications prescribed by medical professionals.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine empathetic approach to client interactions.
