To excel as a Virtual Recovery Coach, you should have a solid understanding of addiction recovery principles, experience in peer support or counseling, and often a relevant certification such as Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC). Familiarity with telehealth platforms, secure messaging systems, and documentation tools is typically required. Many organizations offer training and peer supervision to help coaches adapt to virtual environments and ensure best practices are followed. Building a supportive team environment and leveraging digital tools for collaboration can also help coaches feel connected and empowered, enabling more consistent and impactful client outcomes.
