Overview

Auburn University Libraries seeks applicants for a Student Assistant position in the Innovation & Research Commons (I&RC) Makerspace and Virtual Reality Space unit. This role supports faculty, staff, and students by assisting with the daily operations of the unit. Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, based on operational needs.

Unit's hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to users with virtual reality (VR) equipment, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support VR project development by guiding users through available tools and resources.
  • Assist with the intake, setup, and monitoring of 3D printing jobs submitted by users.
  • Offer basic support for 3D design using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Contribute to a variety of Makerspace projects, including prototyping and creative initiatives, as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Makerspace and VR environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations of the unit.

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Auburn University
