Come Join Us as a Marketing Intern!

Childhelp | 4 Hours per Week | 1 Semester

Position Summary

Childhelp is seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to support our national marketing and communications team. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to gain hands-on experience with a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse.

Working approximately 4 hours per week, this intern will support the Social Media Manager, Marketing Manager, and Director of Communications with content creation, campaign execution, research, and administrative marketing tasks. This role offers exposure to digital marketing, social media strategy, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, and brand management.

What You'll Do:

Social Media Support

  • Assist with creating and scheduling social media content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Draft social media captions consistent with Childhelp's brand voice.

  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement as assigned.
  • Research current social media trends and identify opportunities for Childhelp.

Marketing Support

  • Assist with email marketing preparation, proofreading, and formatting.
  • Help organize marketing assets, photos, videos, and creative files.
  • Conduct research on nonprofit marketing trends, corporate partners, influencers, and campaigns.
  • Support campaign reporting by gathering basic analytics from social media and email platforms.
  • Assist with website updates and content reviews as needed.

Communications & Public Relations

  • Research media contacts and maintain media lists.
  • Assist with proofreading press releases, blog posts, and marketing materials.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile press clips.
  • Help prepare media kits and communications materials.

Administrative Support

  • Attend occasional virtual marketing meetings.
  • Assist with special projects and campaigns.
  • Perform general administrative tasks that support the marketing department.

What You'll Bring:

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines.
  • Passion for Childhelp's mission of protecting children and strengthening families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of social media scheduling platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Interest in nonprofit marketing, communications, or fundraising.
