Virtual Receptionist

At Ruby, we believe that every interaction matters. We help businesses create exceptional first impressions by connecting their callers with people who listen, care, and help things run smoothly. As a Virtual Receptionist, you won't just be answering calls; you'll become an extension of the businesses we serve. Every call is an opportunity to help someone find the right resource, schedule an appointment, or simply feel valued.

If you are someone who naturally makes people feel welcome, stays calm in fast-paced environments, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service, this role is the perfect fit for you!

Work Location & Schedule

This is an full-time, in-office position in either our Chesapeake or Virginia Beach location. Please note that all interviews will take place at our Chesapeake office. Because we provide receptionist services 24/7, 365 days a year, team members must be able to work a scheduled shift that may include a weekend day and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay: $21/hour with our Perfect Attendance Bonus. Perfect attendance means being on time for the start of your shift, returning on time from all breaks, and completing your full scheduled shift. Compensation without perfect attendance is $19/hour.
  • Benefits: (Waiting period may apply)
    • Employee Stock Ownership Plan
    • 401k with Matching Contributions
    • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
    • 2 Weeks Paid Vacation in Year 1
    • Legal Assistance

What You'll Do

  • Provide welcoming, professional, and personalized phone support for multiple customers
  • Answer calls with confidence and create positive experiences for every caller
  • Schedule appointments, transfer calls, and capture detailed messages
  • Efficiently multitask across two monitors
  • Represent each customer's brand with professionalism and attention to detail

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • A minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (words per minute) and proficiency navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously
  • A natural, friendly, and professional communication style
  • Remains composed and focused when things get busy
  • Pays close attention to detail and takes ownership of your work
  • Adapts to different customer needs and takes pride in being a positive representation of a company's reputation

Experience That Helps You Succeed

Experience in a high-volume call center, customer service, or administrative support is valuable. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft 365, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish are a plus, though not required.
