Job description

Description
The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Science at New York University seeks applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Lecturer in its undergraduate and graduate programs. This position will start in September 2025, pending final budgetary and administrative approval.
The duties of the position include: 1) teaching multiple courses in the undergraduate and graduate psychology programs in personality and social psychology, 2) student advising and research/thesis mentoring, and 3) collaborating with faculty.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive teaching experience in research focusing on personality and social psychology, with a track record of teaching methods and statistics classes. The candidate will be conducting research with faculty and advising students.
Candidates should specify their experience and knowledge of relevant research approaches in personality and social psychology in their cover letter (2 pages maximum) and CV. Any experience with teaching-especially methods and statistics courses--should be described as well. Candidates should express a commitment to working with students from a diverse global population. A Ph.D. in Psychology is required. If the selected candidate will graduate in Summer 2025, the Psychology Department must receive by July 31, 2025 a signed Doctoral Thesis Reader Sheet from the primary adviser approving the dissertation for defense. The dissertation must be successfully defended and deposited to the Graduate School on or before September 10, 2025 in time for the graduation deadlines.

Materials should succinctly provide evidence of teaching excellence (e.g., teaching experience, course evaluations), research excellence (e.g., research interests, publications, awards), and experience mentoring student research in personality and social psychology. Please note the classes you are willing to teach (especially methods and statistics classes at the undergrad and graduate level).

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000.
