To transcribe, in real time, dictated medical legal documents for inclusion in the patient healthcare record. This position allows the physician to utilize the time spent with their patient in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Accompanies physician into patient rooms to accurately record medical examination and other information necessary to complete medical record.
  • Prepares chart prior to visits as directed by physicians' expectation of speed and accuracy.
  • Reviews chart for accuracy. Utilizes reference materials to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports. Navigates Word, Windows and the electronic medical records effectively.
  • Ensures patient privacy at all times.

Requirements of this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • One year of transcription experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, orally and in writing, in person and telephonically with co-workers, physicians, patients, and patient's families; must interact well with co-workers
  • BLS or Heartsaver Certification required
  • Certified transcriptionist preferred
