CARBON MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

Job Description

GMC / Graphel Corporation is seeking a hands-on manufacturing technician to manage the day-to-day operation of a growing carbon manufacturing area. This role combines independent equipment operation, production coordination, mechanical troubleshooting, process documentation, and routine quality checks.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and management teams in New York, help establish reliable manufacturing practices, and take on increasing leadership responsibility as the operation expands.

Primary Responsibilities

·         Coordinate daily manufacturing activities and help keep work progressing safely and efficiently.

·         Set up, operate, adjust, and mechanically troubleshoot industrial processing equipment.

·         Follow established work instructions and support process-development and improvement activities.

·         Maintain accurate production, material, equipment, and quality records using physical and electronic systems.

·         Perform routine in-process measurements and quality checks using standard inspection and testing equipment.

·         Identify and communicate safety, quality, equipment, inventory, and process concerns.

·         Support routine equipment maintenance, minor repairs, material handling, inventory monitoring, and shipping activities.

·         Collaborate with remote engineering and management personnel through regular email and virtual meetings.

·         Train and supervise production employees as staffing and production needs grow.

Qualifications and Requirements

·         High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent industrial training preferred.

·         Minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, production leadership, or a related hands-on environment.

·         Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to operate, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial equipment.

·         Ability to work independently, stay organized, recognize abnormal conditions, and communicate clearly with off-site teams.

·         Working knowledge of basic shop mathematics and measurement tools, including calipers.

·         Comfort using Microsoft Excel, email, electronic production records, and virtual-meeting platforms.

·         Carbon or graphite manufacturing experience are helpful but not required.

·         Must have the ability to operate industrial equipment, read instruments and instructions, inspect material, stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

·         Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support equipment operation and production needs.

This position offers the opportunity to help shape a growing manufacturing operation while developing broad technical and leadership experience.
