POSITION TITLE:                       A2 Virtual+ Secondary Summer Term Online Teachers
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD:           June 11 July 28, 2026
POSITION LOCATION:               A2 Virtual+
RATE OF PAY:                             $130/ student
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:    A2 Virtual+ Administration









QUALIFICATIONS
The following is a list of qualifications for the position, any one of which may be waived by the Board of Education in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.

  • Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with certification at the appropriate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students in an online environment and ability to work successfully with students who have academic difficulties.
  • We will consider instructors who work in other summer programs in conjunction with this position, please be forthcoming about other summer commitments.
  • Preference is given to instructors who have previous online experience and/or previous experience in the A2 Virtual+ summer program.
  • Positions will require working from a remote location. Teachers are required to have daily access to the internet at their expense.
  • In-person proctoring responsibilities will be required. Teachers will report to a designated location to proctor assessments for up to four hours twice weekly..

English Math Social Studies Science Personal Fitness Health and Wellness English 9 Algebra 1 Economics Biology Personal Fitness Health and Wellness English 10 Algebra 2 U.S. Government Earth Science     Media Literacy Geometry U.S. History Physics     Pre-Calculus World History Chemistry       Math 7          


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Effective communication through email.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents,
    students and administrators.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Add, subtract, and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Experience and knowledge of Basic Computer Literacy Skills.
  • Experienced Highly Qualified Secondary Instructor, grades 6-12.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Learning Management Systems such as Schoology.
  • Knowledge of the internet and web-related technologies.
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated with multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
  • Perform duties with awareness of all State and Federal Regulations (ie. CIPA, FERPA, etc.), District requirements, and Board of Education policies.
  • Demonstrate interdisciplinary thinking and instruction.
  • Demonstrate open-ended critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to use and develop technology tools that promote shared problem solving and inquiry.
  • Demonstrate an instructional understanding of higher-order questioning skills; apply these skills to advance rigor and relevance of instruction/learning as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
