Job Description:
Strategic Sourcing Analyst
Location: Indianapolis, IN
This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for supporting procurement, the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, vendor evaluations, negotiations and contracting for the enterprise while supporting specific sourcing projects and initiatives.
This position will play a critical role in one of the organization's strategic transformation initiatives, requiring extensive analytical support, data modeling, and reporting to drive informed sourcing decisions. The role is expected to be instrumental in achieving the initiative's savings targets while ensuring sourcing strategies aligning with enterprise objectives and delivering measurable business value.
How you will make an impact:
  • Conducts RFx (Request for Proposal) events and solicits quotes from vendors and documents price reasonableness.
  • Compiles and analyzes data to prepare presentation materials in support of projects.
  • Performs market surveys by gathering and compiling market and financial information on categories and potential vendors.
  • Recommends appropriate course of action to senior purchasing/sourcing leaders.
  • Maintains profile of the diverse vendors in support of Elevance Health's supplier diversity goals.
  • Negotiates and drafts contract documents
  • Support key Government and Commercial product initiatives representing more than $500 million in managed spend.
  • Conducts complex spend and market analyses, develops sourcing insights, supports supplier performance management, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement cost optimization opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a BA/BS: 0-3 years relevant strategic sourcing, vendor management or procurement experience; at least 1 summer or semester internship or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Any direct work experience/internship within the Strategic Sourcing department is preferred.
