The Work

ICF Next is seeking an Events Manager to support a high-visibility federal outreach and engagement program serving military-affiliated communities. This role leads the planning and execution of outreach events and stakeholder engagement activities supporting enterprise communications and public engagement initiatives.

The Events Manager oversees event logistics, staffing coordination, and on-site delivery across in-person, virtual, and hybrid engagements. This role requires a highly organized leader with experience managing complex event operations within fast-paced federal environments while coordinating closely with government stakeholders, communications teams, vendors, and operational support staff.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in event operations, stakeholder coordination, and execution management, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities while ensuring seamless delivery aligned with broader outreach and engagement objectives.

Job Location

Onsite - Alexandria, VA. Work is performed onsite in support of a secure federal client environment in Alexandria, VA, as required by client and contract activities.

What You Will Do

  • Lead planning and execution of outreach events and stakeholder engagement activities supporting strategic communications and public engagement initiatives

  • Oversee event logistics, staffing coordination, vendor management, scheduling, travel coordination, and on-site operational delivery

  • Manage execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, including conferences, workshops, leadership engagements, and community outreach activities

  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, communications teams, creative teams, and operational support staff to ensure integrated event execution

  • Develop and maintain event timelines, staffing plans, operational schedules, and execution checklists across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Support executive-level engagements through coordination of event materials, presentations, briefings, and stakeholder communications

  • Track event deliverables, milestones, and task assignments within structured workflow environments

  • Support rapid-turn and evolving event requirements in a dynamic federal operational environment

  • Conduct post-event reporting, lessons learned, and recommendations for process improvement

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required

  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Alexandria, VA

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Master's degree in communications, public affairs, event management, marketing, or related field

  • 10+ years of professional experience in event management, stakeholder engagement, outreach operations, or strategic communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale or high-visibility event operations

  • Experience supporting federal government clients or programs

  • Experience supporting defense or military community-focused programs

  • Experience supporting integrated outreach, engagement, or communications campaigns

  • Familiarity with virtual event platforms and digital engagement tools

  • Familiarity with reporting, performance tracking, and post-event analytics

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
