What You'll Achieve at SANS

We are seeking a Warehouse Managerto join our Courseware Development team. This role plays a key part in responsible to lead the operations of our Utah-based warehouse in direct support of the SANS ICS/OT curriculum. This role is central to ensuring that SANS students receive fully functional, high-quality Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) hardware kits ahead of every training event. The ICS/OT Warehouse Manager will own the end-to-end lifecycle of student hardware kits - from procurement and assembly to quality assurance, inventory control, and timely distribution to events across the United States and internationally. This is an on-site role based at our Sandy, Utah warehouse facility.


As a Warehouse Manageryou will:

  • Manage the assembly, configuration, testing, and quality control of ICS/OT student hardware kits to ensure course readiness.
  • Develop and maintain standardized assembly procedures, QA/QC checklists, and testing protocols.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues, coordinate repairs or replacements, and ensure kits are properly packaged and prepared for deployment.
  • Maintain servers and virtual machines supporting ICS/OT training environments.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and course-specific configurations to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Manage documentation, version control, and deployment records for server and VM environments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware, spare parts, consumables, and training kits.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, stock levels, and asset lifecycle management to support operational readiness and cost efficiency.
  • Track kit utilization, maintenance history, and asset performance; provide inventory reporting and forecasting as needed.
  • Manage kit check-in/check-out processes to ensure accountability and availability for training events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


What We're Looking For

Every SANS employee brings something unique. For this role, we're looking for candidates with:

  • Familiarity with Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Operational Technology (OT), or related hardware such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA components, or industrial networking equipment.
  • 1+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related supply chain role.
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware assembly, testing, or technical kit preparation, ideally in a technology, electronics, or industrial equipment context.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and operate safely in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with remote teams, vendors, and event staff.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA; visa sponsorship is not available.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience building, maintaining, and updating servers and virtual machines, including applying patches, managing VM images (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, or Hyper-V), and restoring systems to baseline configurations.
  • Experience supporting technical training programs, field service operations, or lab environments involving hands-on hardware.
  • Experience with procurement processes, vendor management, and purchase order administration.
  • Experience with international shipping, export compliance, or customs regulations.
  • Experience with Odoo or comparable inventory management/ERP systems.
  • Background or interest in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, or industrial automation.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing SOPs that improve operational efficiency.
