They may edit articles, manuscripts, videos, websites, or other digital materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Virtual Editors use online tools to collaborate with writers and content creators, providing feedback and making changes as needed. This role is popular in publishing, media, marketing, and other industries that rely on high-quality digital content.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a virtual editor?

Job description

About the Company
AutoHDR is an AI real estate photo editing company, processing 20% of all US real estate photos.
About the Role
We are looking for unusually strong engineers who can ship broadly across the stack and also bring specialized knowledge/experience in at least one high-value area.
We want builders who can contribute to product features, backend systems, internal tools, debugging, and AI workflows, while also being especially strong in something like computer vision, ML, frontend, media processing, or high-throughput systems.
Responsibilities
  • AI image editing systems
  • Backend services and product features
  • Training and inference pipelines
  • Model-serving and media-processing workflows
  • Optimize computer vision and other algorithms for accuracy and speed
  • Improve development systems, internal tools/automations, and squash bugs
  • Impliment/improve full-stack features for:
    • User-facing AI image editing tools
    • New property manipulation tools (virtual staging, re-lighting, grass-greening, etc)
    • Our photo editing model style marketplace
    • Automated video editing through user-created workflows

Qualifications
  • You are a high-agency builder who likes ownership
  • You can operate across frontend, backend, and product work
  • You have demonstrated exceptional ability in somemeaningful way
  • You may be a founder, CTO, founding engineer, first engineer, or someone who owned a core product or platform
  • You may have a specialty in computer vision, ML, AI, frontend, distributed systems, media infrastructure, or mobile

Required Skills
  • Important: We do want specialists, but not strict specialists who only look useful inside a narrow research or data science lane.
  • If your best work is only inside the model layer and there's no evidence you can contribute broadly to product and engineering, this is probably not the right fit

Strong backgrounds we're looking for:
  • Founder / co-founder / CTO / founding engineer experience
  • Zero-to-one product building
  • Extraordinary ownership over a core feature or system
  • Hard technical environments
  • Real shipped products with real users
  • Exceptional open-source, research, or competitive ability when it clearly reflects real technical horsepower

If that sounds like you, apply.
Location:
  • Downtown Austin, TX
    • Open to making exception for exceptional engineers, working remotely in SF

Compensation:
  • $120,000 - $180,000+ base salary + equity and bonuses
  • Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not bonuses.

AutoHDR Core Values:
Our core values are the fuel for our continuous 20% month over month growth. Iron sharpens iron in our office, and the entire dev team is bought in to winning together.
Persistence
You believe anything is possible - the only variable is how long it will take. You will always continue trying to solve a problem, look for new solutions, and figure it out at all costs through continous effort - even when most would give up.
Optimism
You believe strongly that you can accomplish anything you want - regardless of the odds. Even when the worst case scenario happens, and everything is on fire, you never doubt your ability to pull through and win at what you set out to do.
Competitive greatness
Every individual on our team wants to be the best in the world at what they do. We are extremely compeitive, and will settle for nothing other than being the #1 player for AI real estate editing.
