• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address issues such as grief, anxiety, and life transitions.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement holistic care plans that meet the unique needs of our geriatric population.
• Educate clients, their families, and caregivers about strategies for enhancing mental well-being and quality of life, balancing emotional support with practical advice.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for residents and families dealing with end-of-life issues, providing a safe space for expression and healing.
• Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs and other mental health interventions to bolster mental acuity and emotional resilience among older adults.

This role primarily focuses on elderly individuals, many of whom face complex mental health challenges ranging from depression and anxiety related to aging to severe grief following the loss of family members or friends. As a LMHC at our clinic, you will work closely with diverse clients, appreciating their unique life stories and cultural backgrounds while catering to their specific counseling needs.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid License as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent professional experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions tailored to the elderly population's mental health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with elderly clients.
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural sensitivity, adapting counseling approaches to honor the diverse backgrounds of older adults.
• Ability to design personalized treatment plans based on thorough client assessments.
• Knowledge of ethical guidelines and legal standards in geriatric mental health counseling.

• Additional training or certification in geriatric mental health or aging-related issues is highly desirable.
• Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural factors influencing mental health treatment.
• Skilled in utilizing virtual counseling tools and technologies to enhance client engagement and accessibility.

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000, commensurate with experience. Employees will also receive a sign-on bonus as an additional incentive.
