Both roles work remotely and serve legal professionals, but their responsibilities and qualifications differ.

How do Virtual Contract Paralegals typically collaborate with attorneys and clients while working remotely?

Virtual Contract Paralegals work closely with attorneys and clients through digital communication platforms such as email, secure document management systems, and video conferencing tools. They are responsible for drafting legal documents, managing case files, and conducting research, all while maintaining clear and consistent communication. Successful virtual paralegals proactively schedule check-ins, provide regular updates, and ensure confidentiality in all interactions. Building strong remote working relationships and demonstrating reliability are key to thriving in this role.

What are virtual contract paralegals?

Virtual contract paralegals are legal professionals who provide paralegal services remotely on a contract basis, rather than being employed full-time by a single law firm or organization. They assist attorneys and legal teams with tasks such as legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative support, all performed online or from a remote location. This arrangement offers law firms flexibility and cost savings, while paralegals benefit from the ability to work with multiple clients and set their own schedules.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Virtual Contract Paralegal, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Contract Paralegal, you need a solid understanding of contract law, legal research, and document drafting, often supported by a paralegal certificate or relevant legal studies. Familiarity with legal case management software, e-filing systems, and secure document sharing platforms is typically required. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective remote communication set outstanding paralegals apart. These skills ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient collaboration when supporting attorneys and clients in a virtual environment.

Job description

Thinkfind is seeking a Senior Paralegal Contract Specialist to manage the complete contract lifecycle for a dedicated business client while working directly with the legal team. This individual will independently draft, review, revise, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, recommend and incorporate appropriate contractual language, and make sound drafting decisions with minimal attorney oversight. Responsibilities include coordinating contracts from initiation through execution, partnering closely with attorneys and internal business stakeholders, prioritizing multiple agreements simultaneously, and ensuring contracts comply with company policies and legal standards.

Qualified candidates must have at least five years of contract management experience within a large corporate environment, preferably supporting legal, sourcing, procurement, or a related business function. Certified Parelegal is not required, but a plus. Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts is required. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and analytical abilities, and the judgment to make independent contract drafting decisions. Experience with Salesforce or a similar contract management platform is preferred but not required, as the client provides extensive training on its internal systems. This position requires working onsite four days per week (80%), with Tuesdays mandatory and the remaining onsite days flexible. Office hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some scheduling flexibility. The interview process consists of two rounds: an initial virtual interview with three attorneys, followed by a second interview with the hiring manager, preferably onsite.
