About This Role

As the ECE Coach at MVCDC, you are responsible for supporting the implementation of the designated curriculum and supporting the implementation of daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children through the PBC coaching model ensuring fidelity to the designated tools and professional development events/sessions. You will support classroom behavior management in accordance with federal Head Start Performance Standards. You will support compliance with ODJFS, USDA, Health and Sanitation and Regulations.


What You'll Do
  • Conduct classroom observations using assessment and quality tools
  • Analyze classroom data to support coaching and improvement goals
  • Maintain certification and reliability in assigned assessment tools
  • Provide coaching and feedback to teaching staff using the Practice-Based Coaching model
  • Support staff through classroom visits, modeling, virtual coaching, and professional development
  • Develop individualized coaching plans and maintain coaching documentation
  • Review lesson plans and support curriculum implementation
  • Support inclusive practices, language development, and Science of Reading strategies
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure curriculum fidelity and program alignment
  • Assess classroom environments for quality, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Communicate classroom material and equipment needs
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start standards, licensing regulations, and agency policies
  • Maintain professional communication and provide strengths-based feedback to staff
  • Collaborate with ECE teams on program goals and quality initiatives
  • Serve as a professional role model in best practices and family engagement
  • Participate in professional development, meetings, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and services

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Reliable certification and/or ability to obtain and maintain reliability in designated assessment and fidelity tools (e.g., CLASS, HighScope, QCIT)
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families
  • Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program standards
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children birth-5 years
  • Valid Driver’s License and/or access to transportation to other centers as needed

Nice To Haves
  • 2 years in leadership (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to meet and maintain compliance with DCY, USDA, Health, and Sanitation regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with problem solving and good decision-making skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented with positive and dedicated work ethic to children and families
  • Willingness to continue professional education and learning
  • Knowledge of Practice-Based Coaching model and continuous quality improvement practices
