This role is responsible for Commercial Card Product Management and end-to-end delivery across North America, with accountability for key outcomes spanning the Commercial Cards portfolio and engaged with strategic partnerships. You’ll ensure product priorities are tightly aligned to customer requirements and business objectives, translating management’s intent into deliverable, measurable results.
You’ll provide clear product direction by helping to define, maintain, and prioritize the product roadmap, including scope, sequencing, and dependencies. Working hands‑on with cross‑functional teams (e.g., servicing, implementation, operations, risk, and commercial stakeholders), you’ll drive delivery at pace—ensuring solutions are implemented effectively and generate quantifiable value.
Work location / hybrid working: This role is based in either New York City, NY, Buffalo, NY or Chicago, Illinois. Successful candidates should expect to work from office 3 days per week as part of HSBC’s hybrid working approach.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the product vision, strategy, and multi‑quarter roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable customer outcomes.
- Manage Embedded Finance partnerships (new and existing) product set up to strengthen the bank’s presence within the Procure‑to‑Pay platforms used by our clients.
- Own end‑to‑end product governance, including approval processes, product reviews, incident management, and closure of audit actions.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Commercial Card product management, with strong capability translating use cases into product requirements.
- Proven ability to partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk, FCC, Fraud and Finance to ensure product delivery meets control, regulatory, operational requirements, risk appetite and financial mapping, to drive decisions through complex governance and banking policies.
- Demonstrated success operating in a matrix environment, collaborating effectively across global and local teams, and across lines of business and product groups, to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
- Strong technical expertise in Virtual Cards, with a proven ability to guide Implementation and Servicing teams, as well as engage directly with clients, on both new and existing virtual card solutions—including application set‑up and optimisation, practical use cases, and the full range of reporting and management information capabilities.
- Experience across other commercial card product sets, including T&E, One Card, expense management systems and rewards card products.
- Extensive client‑facing experience partnering with large corporate clients to deliver technical consultative support that accelerates adoption—translating business needs into workflows, reporting design, and measurable operational outcomes.
