Job description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting or Bookkeeper person with strong accounting knowledge to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing to a collaborative accounting team. $28 to $30/hour Hybrid work space Immediate Opening! Key Responsibilities: - Record, classify, and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop - Prepare T1 Personal Income Tax Returns - Reconcile financial accounts, including bank, credit card, and loan accounts - Prepare and file HST/GST returns in compliance with CRA deadlines - Prepare year-end adjusting journal entries and assist with working paper files for year-end engagements - Communicate with clients to gather documentation, clarify information, and provide updates - Maintain organized and accurate client records, ensuring timely data entry - Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records while supporting accountants as needed Qualifications: - Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - 3+ years' experience bookkeeping, preferably in an accounting firm - Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop; experience with CaseWare is an asset - Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles - Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines - Willingness to travel to our Port Perry Richmond Hill offices as required APPLY NOW!
