What is virtual advertising?

Virtual advertising refers to the practice of digitally inserting advertisements into video content, such as sports broadcasts or streaming media, in real time or during post-production. These ads can be customized for different audiences and regions, allowing broadcasters and marketers to target specific viewers. Virtual advertising is commonly used in televised sports events, where digital billboards or banners are overlaid onto the field or arena, replacing or supplementing physical advertisements. This technology leverages advanced graphics and tracking systems to ensure that the ads blend seamlessly into the live or recorded footage. The rise of virtual advertising has expanded opportunities for brands to reach viewers in more personalized and engaging ways.
