Interns typically assist with tasks such as filming, editing, scriptwriting, and managing production equipment. This role provides valuable exposure to the video production process and helps individuals build practical skills and industry connections. Job description

The Ohio Channel Intern
Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based media organization and home to Ohio's largest NPR, PBS, and classical radio stations, seeks two interns for the Fall 2026 semester to join The Ohio Channel team in Columbus, OH. The Ohio Channel/Ohio Government Telecommunications is a service of Ohio Public Broadcasting Stations, combining Statehouse and Supreme Court coverage with locally produced PBS programming.
Our Internship Program is designed to maximize the internship experience through hands-on work, delivery of products, and relationship-building with our staff. We eagerly welcome individuals with diverse lived experiences and perspectives to enrich our work and bring fresh ideas into our organization.
Reporting to the Supervising Producer - Production, the Interns will support the technical and operational broadcasts of The Ohio Channel and gain experience with video production, live and recorded coverage, and digital archiving of legislative and public meetings. The Interns will be paid $14.00 per hour for 10 hours per week during the fall semester. There is an opportunity for additional semesters based on performance. Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.
Ideastream Public Media is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, or disability.
