Job Summary
The District Marketing and Communications department is seeking a Video Production Manager to oversee all aspects of video production, from pre-production planning to post-production asset delivery. This position will play a key role in strengthening brand awareness through the execution of high-quality video content for marketing campaigns, website, social media, branding initiatives, executive leadership, and internal/external communications. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, self-motivated multi-channel creator with proven leadership skills, strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of current video trends, production best practices, asset management, client management, and creative branding.
Essential Functions
20% - Video Creativity
  • You have a proven editorial point of view, elevating and anchoring the in-house video team's productions by establishing guidelines, video brand standards, and best practices to ensure content is substantive, compliant, and tells Maricopa Community Colleges' story in ways that drive engagement.
  • You think big, turning stories into video series and audio productions, using your creative instincts and storytelling abilities to capture viewers' attention through compelling narratives, pacing, music, and emotional arcs.
  • You understand visual brand identity, ensuring consistent visual quality while leveraging industry trends and emerging content formats to elevate storytelling across all creative touchpoints.
  • You understand the digital landscape, tailoring and optimizing video strategy by producing and editing content for a wide variety of placements and initiatives, including social media, digital ads, broadcast commercials, and the web.

20% - Production Operations
  • You see all the details, reviewing and assessing the video production lifecycle by assigning project workflows, managing timelines, allocating resources, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, quality, and scalability to increase video production in order to meet today's digital demands.
  • You maintain an inventory and tracking system for all video assets, ensuring projects and raw footage are organized and easily accessible.
  • You possess excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • You help set the strategy by partnering with MarComm leadership and clients on creative ideation, aligning video content with campaigns, launches, and organizational goals.
  • You collaborate closely with cross-functional marketing, communications, and brand experience teams to develop and execute video concepts from start to finish.
  • You serve as a strategic partner to college MarComm teams, providing expert guidance on video strategy, storytelling, and best practices.
  • You report on progress to leadership and iterate on the workflow model and video strategy based on content performance and feedback.
  • You partner with department leadership to translate brand strategy and visual concepts to high-touch video content, including podcasts, TV commercials, streaming ads, and feature profiles.

20% - Storytelling
  • You translate Maricopa Community Colleges' mission and values into human-centered narratives that push storytelling across all media and communication channels.
  • You enhance brand awareness by identifying authentic stories from students, faculty, staff, alumni, leadership, and community voices.
  • You develop video concepts, craft interview questions, and conduct interviews that capture compelling stories across both long-and-short-form content.
  • You work closely with the content development team to pitch ideas and ideate in real-time, thinking big and pushing narratives that elevate the system.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in public relations, marketing, journalism or related field and five (5) years of professional experience in planning, developing and implementing marketing, advertising, and public relations campaigns for an assigned functional area, which includes two years of supervisory experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
  1. 8+ years of demonstrated experience leading creative video production for marketing, advertising, digital media, social media, and website content.
  2. 8+ years of demonstrated leadership experience overseeing video editorial, creative, and production operations related to marketing, advertising, and digital campaigns.
  3. 8+ years of relevant experience in video production, post-production, motion graphics, visual storytelling, editing, color grading, and sound mixing.
  4. 8+ years of relevant experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically in Premiere and After Effects.
  5. Bachelor's or master's degree in film production, videography, film and media studies, filmmaking, or film and media production preferred.
  6. Proven ability to set and implement digital video strategy across multi-channel content, including brand consistency as demonstrated in portfolio.
  7. Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated in a application materials.

Special Working Conditions
Travel: Depending on the project or assignment, this position will be required to travel to college campuses located across the Valley and various locations outside the system.
Working Hours: Depending on the project or assignment, this position will be required to cover for college and system events during off-hours to support systemwide and college initiatives as needed.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Portfolio requirements include the following video types:
  • A minimum of one short-form video (a short-form video is defined as a video that is no longer than 3 minutes in length)
  • A minimum of one long-form video (a long-form video is defined as a video that is 5 minutes or longer and should not exceed 30 minutes)
  • A minimum of one social media video. (a social media video is defined as a video used specifically for social media via Instagram, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn. This video should not be a duplicate of the short-form video)
  • A minimum of one corporate and or commercial-style video (there is no length requirement for this video)

A minimum of four videos, with representation from each category, must be included in the applicant's portfolio.
