Help Businesses Resolve Complex IRS & State Tax Issues

Are you an experienced Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Tax Attorney who enjoys solving complex tax problems and negotiating with taxing authorities?

Do you have hands-on experience preparing Forms 433-A and 433-B, Offers in Compromise, financial disclosures, and negotiating collection alternatives with the IRS and state tax agencies?

We are a growing tax resolution firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, serving business owners nationwide. Our clients often have significant IRS and state tax liabilities, multiple years of unfiled returns, payroll tax issues, and active collection actions. They rely on us to help them become compliant, negotiate favorable resolutions, and regain peace of mind.

This is a fully remote position with a collaborative team focused exclusively on tax controversy and resolution work.

Bonus: Candidates who are eligible to represent taxpayers before the Oregon Department of Revenue or have experience handling Oregon tax resolution matters are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

As a Tax Resolution Specialist, you'll manage cases from financial analysis through resolution while serving as the primary representative for your clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating directly with the IRS and state taxing agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Preparing and analyzing Forms 433-A, 433-B, and other financial disclosure statements.
  • Developing customized resolution strategies based on each client's financial circumstances.
  • Preparing and submitting Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements, Currently Not Collectible (CNC) requests, penalty abatement requests, and other resolution packages.
  • Communicating with IRS Revenue Officers, ACS representatives, Appeals, and state revenue departments.
  • Representing taxpayers during audits, appeals, collection matters, and other administrative proceedings as appropriate.
  • Reviewing transcripts, notices, and financial records to identify the most effective resolution strategy.
  • Keeping clients informed throughout the process and explaining recommendations and next steps.
  • Maintaining accurate case documentation and managing deadlines within our case management system.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of dedicated tax resolution experience.
  • General tax preparation or bookkeeping experience alone does not qualify.
  • You must have direct experience resolving IRS and/or state tax collection matters.
  • Active Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Tax Attorney license.
  • Experience preparing:
  • Forms 433-A and 433-B
  • Offers in Compromise
  • Installment Agreements
  • Currently Not Collectible requests
  • Penalty abatement requests
  • Strong knowledge of IRS collection procedures and familiarity with state tax resolution processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload while working effectively in a remote environment.
  • Full-time availability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience representing businesses with payroll tax liabilities.
  • Experience working directly with IRS Revenue Officers, Appeals, and state revenue agencies.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial situations and develop creative, compliant resolution strategies.
