Marketing Developer: Video & Playable Ads

Goodgame Studios

OR • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Posted 13 days ago

Job description

We're looking for a Marketing Developer to join the creative marketing team behind a new mobile 4X strategy game in development at Goodgame Studios, part of the Stillfront Group. Our marketing is creative-led. We acquire players through video and playable ads, and we hold our work to the standard of the best creative in the genre.
This is a hands-on role that runs from mechanic to shipped ad unit. You design the mechanic, build the 3D playable, build the Unity version of our video artist films, and package both for the networks. In this role you build the same mechanic twice, once for the browser and once in-engine, so you should be equally at home in a web 3D stack and in the Unity editor.
YOUR MISSION
  • Build 3D playable ads from scratch. Fast-loading, self-contained, and engineered to convert in paid UA campaigns
  • Build lightweight minigames and prototypes in Unity
  • Package and finalize playables for the major networks (Unity, Google, AppLovin), respecting each one's MRAID, size, and CTA rules
  • Design custom setups, including animations, scenes, environments, skins, rebranding, and code changes for creative video production
  • Comfort using AI tools in the production workflow (welcome and encouraged - just tell us where you used them)
YOUR BACKSTORY
  • Hands-on playable ad experience for mobile game
  • At least +3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS, with a web game framework (PlayCanvas, Three.js, Babylon.js, Cocos, PixiJS, or Phaser)
  • Working knowledge of Unity and C#, enough to build marketing minigames and to reason about what transfers between Unity and the HTML5 playable ads
  • Knowledge of the single-file, no-network, MRAID, and size constraints of the major ad networks, and how to hit them without killing the experience
BIG PLUS
  • Node.js for build scripts and build automation
  • Experience in Idle Arcade genre mechanics
  • 3D asset basics (Blender) and an eye for what makes a casual mechanic satisfying
What You Can Expect
  • Full ownership of the ad units you build, from mechanic through build to delivery
  • A new game heading into launch, where your creative helps decide who tries it
  • An environment where AI tools are welcome and you can use them without justifying it
  • A collaborative, international team at one of Europe's leading mobile and live-service game studios
How We Hire
Shortlisted candidates receive a three-task paid case study plus a short creative concept write-up. The tasks mirror the day-to-day work: a teardown of a reference playable, a small playable built from our assets, and packaging that build to a named network's spec.
Please include links to playables or interactive work you have shipped. We need builds we can open, not only video captures.
