Video Editors play a critical role in bringing visual stories to life. Their expertise in editing, sound design, and visual effects contributes significantly to the impact and success of video content across various platforms and industries. Specific responsibilities and qualifications may vary based on the industry and the type of video projects involved. Candidates must submit a portfolio or sample work showcasing prior video editing projects. Schedule:

  • This position is considered "hybrid": 40-hour work week, 4 days in office setting, 1 day remote (usually Friday).

Responsibilities:

  • Video Editing: Use video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) to edit raw video footage into a cohesive and visually appealing final product. Footage
  • Selection: Review and select the best shots and sequences from raw video material to create a coherent narrative or visual story.
  • Visual Effects: Enhance videos with visual effects, graphics, text overlays, and animations to convey information and engage viewers effectively.
  • Sound Editing: Edit and mix audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to ensure high-quality audiovisual content.
  • Color Correction: Adjust and enhance the color, contrast, and brightness of video footage to achieve the desired look and mood.
  • Transitions: Create smooth transitions between shots and scenes to maintain the flow of the video.
  • Storytelling: Collaborate with directors, producers, and content creators to understand the video's purpose and message, and then translate that into the final edit.
  • Feedback Incorporation: Review and incorporate feedback from clients, directors, or stakeholders to refine and improve video projects.
  • File Management: Organize and manage video files, ensuring that projects are well-structured and easily accessible for future use.
  • Format Optimization: Adapt video content to various formats and platforms, such as social media, websites, and mobile devices. Rendering and Exporting: Prepare final video projects for distribution by rendering and exporting them in the appropriate formats and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in film, media production, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Video Editing Experience: Proven experience as a Video Editor, often demonstrated through a portfolio of past work. 1-year minimum job experience strongly preferred.
  • Video Editing Software: Proficiency in video editing software Camtasia required. Experience with Adobe After Effects strongly preferred.
