We're looking for an experienced and strategic leader to serve as our Vice President of Virtual Care Transformation, driving innovation and measurable impact for our healthcare partners.

The Vice President, Virtual Care Transformation will operationalize, and lead Avel Care Transformation (ACT)—a structured, consultative framework that enables hospitals and health systems to achieve sustainable operational, clinical, workforce, and financial performance through effective adoption of virtual care and clinical process change. The Vice President owns the ACT transformation model, guiding customers through a defined journey, ensuring consistent, measurable value realization across Avel engagements. The Vice President, Virtual Care Transformation serves as a trusted advisor to hospital leadership while also acting as an internal catalyst leveraging Avel capabilities, analytics, and subject matter expertise to deliver repeatable, high-impact transformation outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Operationalizes Avel Care Transformation as a consultative offering for customers, with an initial focus on rural healthcare.
  2. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure effective change management occurs, and long-term sustainability goals are met.
  3. Coaches hospital and health system leaders through the adoption of virtual care models, becoming a trusted and valued partner. Works with clients to identify organization challenges and develop actionable solutions.
  4. Identifies common customer needs, operational barriers, and opportunities for adjacent services, tools, or partnerships. Develops strategic recommendations for clients and Avel.
  5. Supports the client journey, engaging strategically with health systems, lead to cross-sell, innovation, and growth opportunities.
  6. Stays current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, identifying strategic opportunities for clients.
  7. Gathers and assess data to identify opportunities for improvement. Informs the development customer-facing dashboards, ROI tools, and reporting frameworks that communicate the value of Avel services.
  8. Partners with Avel Quality staff on improvement projects in support of the hospitals to implement and measure programs.
  9. Supports customers in redesigning clinical workflows, care team roles, escalation processes, and staff training approaches needed to achieve adoption, quality, and performance goals.
  10. Identifies needs for high impact training, education, and communication resources that support successful virtual care integration. Works with Avel SMEs and Avel education to deliver content.
  11. Facilitates customer cohorts, peer learning groups, and online communities focused on shared clinical and operational challenges, coordinating with Avel education.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, such as nursing, or healthcare administration, business, health informatics, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education, clinical background, and senior-level healthcare leadership experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years experience in health care operational leadership, working in a hospital or health system required. Knowledge of rural health care delivery preferred. Clinical background or healthcare leadership credential preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, including the key financial, workforce, quality, and access drivers affecting hospitals required.
