Tidal Financial Group

Remote

Full-time

Posted 20 days ago

Job description

Tidal Financial Group is a leading ETF investment technology platform dedicated to creating, operating, and growing ETFs. We combine deep ETF expertise with innovative partnership approaches to offer comprehensive, value-generating ETF solutions. Our platform offers best-in-class strategic guidance, product planning, fund services, legal support, operations support, marketing and research, and sales and distribution services.
Tidal is a fully remote organization. Employees who live in proximity to Tidal's Milwaukee, Chicago, New York, and West Palm Beach offices have the option to work in the office as their schedule allows.
About the role
Tidal is seeking an Executive Vice President of Fund Operations to lead and scale a critical part of our ETF operating platform. This senior executive will oversee the teams, processes, controls, and service provider relationships responsible for ETF fund administration oversight, fund accounting oversight, NAV review, valuation support, financial reporting, regulatory filings, fund expense oversight, board reporting, audit coordination, liquidity monitoring, and operational risk management.
This role is both strategic and operational. The EVP will be responsible for ensuring that Tidal's Fund Operations function can continue to support significant growth while maintaining accuracy, regulatory discipline, strong service quality, clear accountability, and a strong control environment. A core mandate will be to build a sustainable and scalable operating model that improves efficiency, reduces operational risk, strengthens consistency, and creates better visibility across this critical part of the organization.
The ideal candidate must bring meaningful ETF industry experience, deep knowledge of ETF fund operations, and a proven ability to lead large, high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This person should be equally comfortable setting strategy, designing operating infrastructure, managing risk, developing leaders, and resolving complex operational issues across internal teams and external service providers.
What you'll do
  • Lead the overall Fund Operations function, including ETF fund administration oversight, fund accounting oversight, NAV review, valuation support, financial reporting, regulatory filings, board reporting, expense oversight, audit coordination, liquidity monitoring, and related operational control activities.
  • Build, implement, and continuously improve a scalable operating model for Fund Operations, with a focus on efficiency, risk reduction, quality, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Oversee multiple fund administration and operational oversight teams, ensuring effective coordination, prioritization, communication, and execution across Tidal's ETF platform.
  • Provide senior leadership over daily fund accounting oversight, including NAV review, portfolio valuation, pricing sources, corporate actions, income accruals, expense allocations, and reconciliation matters.
  • Strengthen the control framework governing NAV oversight, valuation monitoring, liquidity classifications, financial reporting, expense management, regulatory filings, and operational risk management.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of board materials and reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and strong governance support.
  • Oversee and coordinate SEC regulatory filings and fund reporting obligations, including Forms N-PORT, N-CEN, 24f-2, N-PX, N-CSR, financial statements, and other required filings.
  • Provide executive oversight of fund expenses, accruals, fee waivers, payments, and related accounting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to applicable standards.
  • Support valuation governance responsibilities, including oversight of pricing methodologies, fair value processes, pricing exceptions, stale prices, significant market movements, and appropriate escalation procedures.
  • Partner with internal valuation committees, compliance, legal, portfolio management, operations, and external service providers to ensure appropriate documentation and resolution of valuation and operational matters.
  • Oversee liquidity monitoring processes, including review of liquidity classifications, securities requiring enhanced monitoring, and alignment with liquidity risk management programs.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for administrators, custodians, fund accountants, pricing vendors, auditors, legal counsel, boards, clients, and other key service providers.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, manual processes, risk points, and areas of inconsistency across the platform; design and implement improvements, automation, reporting, and governance enhancements.
  • Develop clear policies, procedures, escalation frameworks, service standards, metrics, and management reporting for the Fund Operations organization.
  • Partner closely with compliance, legal, capital markets, portfolio management, client service, product, technology, and other internal teams to support the ongoing operation of Tidal's ETF platform.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and fund administration professionals, building leadership depth, succession readiness, and a high-performance team culture.
  • Support regulatory exams, internal audits, client due diligence reviews, board inquiries, and other oversight processes.
  • Help define the future-state operating infrastructure required to support Tidal's continued growth across a larger, more complex, and increasingly sophisticated ETF platform

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in ETF fund operations, ETF fund administration, ETF fund accounting, or a closely related ETF operating function.
  • Meaningful ETF industry experience is required.
  • Significant experience leading large teams, senior managers, or multi-team operating groups in a high-growth or high-volume environment.
  • Deep knowledge of ETF operations, including NAV oversight, fund accounting, financial reporting, expense management, regulatory filings, board reporting, audit support, valuation oversight, liquidity monitoring, and service provider oversight.
  • Strong understanding of SEC regulatory requirements applicable to ETFs and registered funds.
  • Experience working with ETF fund administrators, custodians, fund accountants, pricing vendors, auditors, legal counsel, boards, and other fund service providers.
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and improve efficiency across complex workflows.
  • Strong accounting background preferred, including familiarity with derivatives such as swaps, futures, options, and forward currency contracts.
  • Experience with valuation governance, fair valuation frameworks, liquidity monitoring, pricing oversight, and operational risk management strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing board materials, financial statements, regulatory filings, fund expenses, and audit cycles.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, relationship management, and executive presence.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, highly collaborative environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on issue resolution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required. Advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
