Job description

Seaport Global is seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Specialist to join our SPAC and Event-Driven team. Your primary focus will be driving institutional sales, forging strategic relationships, and capitalizing on event-driven market opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with 3–5 years of experience and an established network. You will be assigned an account coverage package and will also target uncovered whitespace accounts to capture new business and drive top-line revenue. We support our producers with a lucrative commission structure designed to reward immediate origination and a dedicated expense account for travel and client engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Targeted Sales & Distribution: Lead outbound sales efforts for SPACs and other event-driven opportunities to institutional investors, hedge funds, and family offices.
  • Account Origination: Prospect, pitch, and successfully onboard new, uncovered accounts to expand the firm’s distribution network.
  • Market Analysis & Structuring: Articulate complex event-driven strategies, sponsor economics, and SPAC mechanics to sophisticated buyers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the broader SPAC syndication, capital markets, and investment banking teams to ensure successful deal execution and strategic alignment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in institutional equity sales, event-driven trading, or capital markets.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep, technical understanding of SPAC mechanics, de-SPAC timelines, and event-driven arbitrage strategies.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven track record of independently opening new accounts and driving measurable commission revenue.
  • Drive & Energy: High-energy, self-starter mentality with the hunger to aggressively build a book of business within an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Licensing: Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 (or equivalent) preferred.
Compensation:
  • Base Draw and attractive commission payout structure, offering uncapped upside for high performers who successfully originate and convert new business.

$150-250k draw with attractive variable payout commission structure on the account coverage package assigned.
