A Brief Overview
Hunt Companies Business Services is looking for a Tax Manager is responsible for communicating results to the Tax Sr. Manager and the SVP, ensuring that the company proactively identifies tax opportunities and meets its tax-related needs.

 
What you will do

  • Assist with planning and scheduling tax projects with the company’s resources.
  • Perform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, tax research, tax communications, and other requested deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with management regarding project status, structure opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely manner.
  • Maintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specialization.
  • Financial responsibility duties include: Approves invoices for payment, consults manager for major/significant decisions that involve schedule, scope, and budget, demonstrates the ability to understand and perform to financial goals (i.e., income, expenses, and budgets), monitors financial success of transactions and impact of financial status, posts payments on ledger, prepare reports/spreadsheets containing confidential and financial information, review and approve certain payments that are within pre-established limits, expense reports, and analyzes and understands financial statements and forecasts.
  • This role involves motivating, coaching, and training tax associates in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior associates.
  • Participate in and provide leadership for company initiatives and tax projects (federal, state, sales & use) with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Lead and manage tax compliance projects in accordance with the company and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectations.
  • Position is 100% on-site.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Tax, Finance, Accounting,  or related and 3 years of experience in job offered, Accountant, or in a related occupation.
  • Must have experience with:
    • (1) Tax preparation experience;
    • (2) Proficiency in using tax research databases such as Prosystems, Onesource, CCH, RIA Checkpoint;
    • (3) Experience with JD Edwards-Enterprise One, Workday or other large ERP system;
    • (4) Ability to interpret and apply complex tax codes such as Internal Revenue Code and Regulations.
