The Vice President, Head of Americas Oil Markets will play a leading role within Wood Mackenzie's Oil Markets team, based in or regularly working from Houston. This individual will have a dual mandate combining deep analytical expertise with a strong external presence, delivering trusted insight on crude oil markets, and potentially across oil products and NGLs, to inform the decisions of clients, media, and senior industry stakeholders.
The successful candidate will help shape Wood Mackenzie's oils market intelligence, contribute to the development of new analytical products and data-driven offerings and represent Wood Mackenzie across the Americas energy industry. They will work closely with clients, colleagues and industry stakeholders to ensure our market views remain relevant, differentiated and impactful.

  • Produce high-quality, forward-looking thought leadership, including written research, commentary, and presentations, that anticipate and respond to major developments across crude oil, refined products, and NGL markets.
  • Represent Wood Mackenzie in the media and at industry events, building a distinctive and authoritative public profile that reinforces our position as the most trusted and integrated source of oil market intelligence.
  • Build and sustain relationships with senior clients and prospects, including industry C-suite, trading leadership, and government and institutional stakeholders, driving commercial outcomes and deepening Wood Mackenzie's market influence in the Americas.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new analytical products, including data-driven and machine-learning-enhanced offerings across crude, oil products, and NGLs, bringing subject matter expertise to shape product direction and ensure commercial relevance.
  • Use market expertise and industry relationships to support growth across research and consulting with strategic client engagement covering Wood Mackenzie's global oils offerings.
  • Coach and champion exceptional analyst talent across the Americas team, fostering analytical excellence, subject matter depth, and commerciality.

Experience
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in oil market analysis, potentially gained within a major energy company, or a leading research and analytics firm.
They will have:
  • Deep expertise in crude oil market fundamentals, complemented by strong working knowledge of global oil product and NGLs markets.
  • A proven track record of delivering market analysis to inform high-stakes strategic, investment, or trading decisions.
  • An established and credible external profile: recognised subject matter expert or thought leader, contributing to several regional industry forums.
  • Established relationships with senior figures across the Americas energy sector, including executives, economists, and government or institutional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex market dynamics into compelling narratives.
  • Familiarity with data-driven and quantitative approaches to market analysis, and an appetite to work at the frontier of how oil market intelligence is developed.
