Executive Leadership | Private Equity-Backed Industrial Manufacturer

Our client, a private equity-backed industrial manufacturing company with operations across multiple U.S. facilities, is seeking a Vice President of Purchasing to join its Executive Leadership Team. This newly created role represents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced procurement executive to build and lead a best-in-class purchasing organization while driving meaningful enterprise value.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Purchasing will have responsibility for all direct and indirect procurement across a multi-site manufacturing platform serving utility, infrastructure, telecommunications, and industrial markets. The organization has experienced significant growth through acquisition and continues to pursue an active M&A strategy, creating a unique opportunity for a strategic leader to consolidate supplier relationships, professionalize procurement processes, and capture significant cost and operational synergies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's enterprise purchasing strategy across direct and indirect spend.
  • Lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, category management, and supplier performance initiatives.
  • Consolidate purchasing activities across multiple operating companies to leverage enterprise buying power and improve margins.
  • Drive measurable cost savings, supplier optimization, and working capital improvements through payment terms, lead-time reductions, inventory initiatives, and strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Planning, and executive leadership to improve supplier performance, on-time delivery, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Lead the procurement integration strategy for future acquisitions, including supplier rationalization, contract harmonization, and synergy realization.
  • Build scalable procurement processes, systems, reporting, and governance to support continued platform growth.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing purchasing organization while serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 15+ years of progressive purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading procurement across multiple manufacturing locations or business units.
  • Manufacturing experience with resin and steel wire commodities.
  • Experience developing category strategies, negotiating enterprise supplier agreements, and driving measurable cost reduction initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of supplier performance management, contract negotiations, commodity purchasing, and working capital optimization.
  • Experience supporting acquisition integration and supplier consolidation is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build and develop procurement organizations while partnering effectively with cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Executive presence with outstanding communication, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing private equity-backed platform at an exciting stage of its evolution. The successful candidate will play a highly visible role in shaping procurement strategy, integrating acquisitions, improving profitability, and helping position the company for continued growth and long-term value creation.

Location: Dallas-Fort-Worth Metroplex or Cleveland, OH
