Overview

The Vice President, Project Services - Mechanical serves as a technical and process-oriented leader responsible for building and leading project services functions that enable operational teams to execute projects safely, consistently, and profitably. This role defines, standardizes, and continuously improves the systems, processes, and capabilities that support field execution inclusive of project planning, project controls, procurement, BIM/VDC, and pre-commissioning. The VP ensures that all project teams are equipped with the tools, data, workflows, and technical support necessary to deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes across all regions.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Operational Enablement and Alignment
  • Partners closely with Operations leadership to ensure Project Services functions are fully aligned with field execution needs and priorities.
  • Serves as the primary bridge between operations, project delivery, fabrication, and support functions to drive consistency and performance.
  • Ensures all Project Services activities are focused on removing friction, improving visibility, and enabling execution in the field.
  • Systems and Technology Leadership
  • Owns the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of project delivery systems, tools, and data architecture to ensure data accuracy, transparency, and real-time decision-making.
  • Leads evaluation and deployment of emerging technologies (BIM/VDC, project controls, scheduling, procurement platforms) to increase productivity and reduce risk.
  • Drive system adoption, integration, and performance through measurable KPIs and user engagement.
  • Process, Standards, and Project Controls
  • Defines, implements, and continuously improves standardized project delivery processes, management systems, and best practices.
  • Oversees core enabling functions including:
  • Project Planning
  • Project Controls and Scheduling
  • Procurement of Materials
  • BIM/VDC & Fabrication Integration
  • Pre-Commissioning & Technical Support
  • Establishes governance and performance metrics that drive accountability and predictability.
  • Ensures consistent execution of fabrication, quality control, and startup procedures across all projects.
  • Capability Development and Training
  • Builds and scales a structured training and onboarding program for project management, construction management, and field leadership.
  • Ensures teams are equipped with the skills, tools, and knowledge required to execute at a high level in complex environments.
  • Measures effectiveness through adoption rates, capability growth, and improved project performance metrics.
  • Mentors leaders and reinforce a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Field Engagement and Continuous Improvement
  • Conducts site visits and maintains direct engagement with project teams to understand challenges and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Uses data, feedback, and lessons learned to continuously refine systems, standards, and execution models.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical and plumbing construction.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant area required
  • 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-region teams and large-scale commercial, healthcare, and mission critical project portfolios.
  • Strong Experience in modular construction and fabricated mechanical/plumbing systems.
  • Strong experience in project delivery systems, controls, and construction technology platforms (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, and Autodesk BIM/VDC software).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process standardization, system adoption, and operational improvement at scale.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree; advanced degree or MBA
  • Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or HVAC Contractors License
  • Professional Mechanical Engineering License

Travel Requirements

  • 0- 20% of time will be spent traveling to job sites/office locations.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  •  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  •  Climbing stairs.
  •  Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  •  Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  •  Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
