Vice President of Operations – Healthcare

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Operations – Healthcare is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, and continued growth of this growing home care organization. Working closely with the Vice President of Sales, this role ensures operational capacity aligns with business development initiatives while delivering exceptional service to clients.

The Vice President provides executive oversight of Recruitment, Scheduling & Compliance, Regional Operations, and Field Operations, ensuring all departments work collaboratively to achieve organizational objectives, maximize efficiency, support business growth, and maintain the highest standards of service delivery. This leadership role reflects oversight of the key operational departments shown in the current organizational structure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Healthcare operations.

Lead and mentor the operational leadership team, including Recruitment, Scheduling & Compliance, Regional Managers, and Field Supervisors.

Partner with the President and Vice President of Sales to develop and execute operational strategies that support business growth and long-term organizational objectives.

Active pursue business growth by leveraging business contacts in the healthcare industry.

Ensure operational departments work collaboratively to support recruitment, scheduling, client service, compliance, and workforce planning.

Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, technology optimization, and performance management.

Oversee recruitment strategies to ensure proactive talent acquisition, strong candidate pipelines, and effective workforce planning.

Ensure scheduling operations maximize staff utilization, minimize open shifts, maintain compliance, and support accurate payroll and invoicing.

Provide leadership to Regional Managers to strengthen client relationships, support business development, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

Oversee Field Operations to ensure successful staff onboarding, site support, orientation, accommodations, and quality assurance activities.

Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators, financial metrics, and service standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and professional development across all operational teams.

Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare staffing, healthcare operations, or workforce management, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams across recruitment, scheduling, compliance, client services, and operations.

Knowledge of healthcare staffing operations, workforce planning, client relationship management, and business development.

Experience implementing operational improvements, leveraging technology, and driving organizational growth.

Exceptional leadership, communication, strategic planning, financial management, and decision-making skills.

Proficiency with Workforce Management Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, Microsoft 365, Customer Relationship Management Systems, and Operational Reporting Tools.
