This executive leader oversees an integrated portfolio that includes Business Development, Philanthropy, Marketing & Communications, and External Affairs, ensuring a coordinated and strategic approach to advancing the organizationโ€™s mission.The successful candidate will bring vision, creativity, inclusiveness, and disciplined execution to identify, pursue, and secure opportunities that align with CSIโ€™s values and long-term goals. In partnership with the CEO and senior leadership team, the Vice President will enhance organizational visibility, cultivate relationships with legislators, funders, community partners, and stakeholders, and ensure CSI remains actively engaged in relevant state and national conversations affecting the human services and justice sectors. This role requires a thoughtful and visionary leader who can build strong relationships across departments while serving as a key representative of the organization with government agencies, philanthropic partners, business leaders, and community stakeholders. Since CSIs founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in community-based services. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan, we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 9 states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year. This will include learning to recognize symptoms of trauma and how to respond, through training starting at orientation and throughout their career at CSI.CSI is committed to systematically evaluating the integration of the trauma-informed values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment at all levels of the organization's policies, procedures, and structures to guard against the possibility of re-traumatization.Schedule: 40 Hours / weekThis position does have supervisory responsibilities.The primary responsibilities for this position will be:Growth & Revenue AdvancementDevelop recommendations for CSIโ€™s growth activities across contracts, grants, donor development, fundraising, and earned revenue.Build disciplined systems for opportunity identification, evaluation, and pursuit.Align growth efforts with operational capacity and program delivery, in collaboration with Senior Leaders.Oversee RFP and grant development processes.Strengthen competitiveness and win rates.Continue diversification efforts related to revenue streams across government and philanthropic sources.Support efforts to expand CSIโ€™s Learning Institute as a mission-aligned, revenue-generating service line.Together with the CEO, identify and pursue partnerships with other nonprofits, including affiliations, acquisitions and/or mergers.External Affairs & Sector EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with government agencies, funders, and national organizations.Coordinate contract negotiations on behalf of CSI, when necessaryStrengthen CSIโ€™s visibility and leadership in the field; represent CSI in external forums, coalitions, and partnerships.Ensure an efficient and effective volunteer program.Manage media relations and external communications.People Leadership & CultureLead and develop a high-performing advancement team.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.EncourageSupport streamlined internal communications platforms, including internal newsletter and town halls (or similar)Serve as a relational leader who prioritizes staff engagement, development, and a positive organizational culture across all areas of CSI.Regular reporting on key performance indicators.OtherAll duties as assigned by CEOQualificationsBachelorโ€™s Degree in nonprofit management, human services, philanthropy/fundraising, or similar.7+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit growth, advancement, business development, external affairs, or similar.Proven success securing government contracts, grants, and/or philanthropic donations.Established relationships across human services, particularly criminal and/or juvenile justice systems, and/or child welfare.Exceptional verbal and written communication (including public speaking), networking, and strategic thinking skillsAbility to lead multiple, complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive resultsRelational, strengths-based leadership approach, effective staff supervision and team management.Additional BenefitsTwo (2) weeksโ€™ vacation accrued within the first year, bumped to three (3) weeks accrual after 1 year of service.Ongoing training.Sick time (7 days accrual basis), floating holiday time (4 days/year).Medical and Dental plans.Voluntary plan options for: Vision, FSA, voluntary STD, Accident, Hospital, Life insurance and AD&D.401(k) Retirement savings plan with automatic enrollment and a company match of 100% up to 4% of your contribution.Tuition reimbursement after 1 year of service.CSI is an Equal Opportunity Employer โ€“ M/F/Disability/Vet.
